Bridgeport – Pedestrian Injured In Crash
A person was hospitalized following a pedestrian incident in Bridgeport late yesterday afternoon.
At around 5:40 p.m., officials were alerted to an accident on State Street, near its intersection with Howard Avenue and just in front of Chaves Bakery. According to reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, sustaining serious injuries in the hit. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital by responders. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and has cooperated with the subsequent investigation. Authorities have not identified anyone yet and will provide more details when appropriate.
All parties involved in this incident have been accounted for (no hit-and-run), and that should make it easier for officials to establish accountability. That said, investigators should look for signs of negligence as this factor has resulted in many accidents in the past. This process will also allow victims to pursue their own claims against suspects if deemed appropriate by their legal counsel.
