Bridgeport – Interstate Truck Crash
A tractor-trailer crashed on the interstate in Bridgeport early Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported at approximately 12:24 a.m. and occurred on the northbound lanes of I-95, just in front of Exit 28 (East Main Street). According to officials, a tractor-trailer was jackknifed in the area, blocking a portion of the highway. No word yet on whether or not other vehicles were involved in the incident, but injuries were reported, and authorities requested both fire and EMS crews to the crash scene. The site has since been cleared of all obstructions, but the incident is still under investigation. Authorities will release more details, including the identities of everyone involved, when appropriate.
Jackknifed vehicles, particularly tractor-trailers, typically occur due to the involvement of other motorists or drivers losing control of their vehicles. Officials will always investigate this and other cases thoroughly to make sure culprits are brought to justice. Suffice it to say, if investigators discover DUI, reckless behavior or negligence, injured parties will have the option of consulting legal experts to determine if they can file for damages.
