Bridgeport – Entrapment And Injuries

A motorist was injured in an intersection crash in Bridgeport last Wednesday evening.

At around 9:30 p.m., 35-year-old Anthony T. Mendes was driving his 1998 Honda Civic when he veered off the roadway at the intersection of Boston and Central Avenues. The car climbed up the sidewalk and crashed into a home located at 1417 Boston Avenue. Mendes was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by responding firefighters. It only took a few minutes for fire crews to extract the driver, after which he was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment. According to witnesses, Mendes had a passenger who fled the area following the crash. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and following leads that may help them identify its cause and also apprehend the passenger who fled.
