Bethel – Crash Involving Utility Pole

A vehicle accident involving a utility pole was reported in Bethel Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:00 p.m., emergency teams were dispatched to the intersection of Dodgingtown Road (Route 302) and Linda Lane. According to initial reports, two vehicles figured in an accident in the area, with available footage showing a downed utility pole and wires trapping a motorist inside one of the vehicles. Another motorist sustained injuries and was immediately tended to by responding paramedics. Authorities had to cordon off the area and request teams from Eversource to repair the damaged pole. As of posting time, everyone involved in the incident has been accounted for, though officials have yet to identify anyone. This story will be updated when more info becomes available.

In this incident, entrapment came in the form of hanging electrical wires that prevented a motorist from exiting his/her vehicle. This exemplifies just one of many scenarios on the road that can put motorists’ lives in danger. Having said that, consulting legal experts post-crash is always advised.
