Berlin – Highway Accident Update
State officials just released an update related to last Wednesday’s highway crash in Berlin.
Authorities have identified the victim of the crash that occurred on the southbound side of Route 9. 54-year-old Marie Ahern of Middletown was struck and killed by a vehicle near Exit 23 (Christian Lane). Officials have yet to describe the circumstances surrounding the accident — the case is still under investigation. Authorities are still collecting evidence and are asking anyone with info about the incident to contact them as soon as possible.
In some situations, authorities need testimony from witnesses to accurately identify crash culprits/causes. Because of this, officials would always encourage the public, particularly those with relevant info, to come forward and help solve various cases. Bringing culprits to justice is not the only benefit. Establishing accountability can also allow accident victims to seek damages in some cases, helping them find closure after these traumatic events.
